My first exposure to the Amharic language and Ethiopian culture was at a local restaurant. The dimly lit room was decorated with Ethiopian art and posters of famous Ethiopian singers. This experience coupled with my existing love of foreign languages and culture led me to brush up on my knowledge of Ethiopia and of Amharic language.
