As someone who has personally studied Hebrew, I can testify to the difficulty that exists in transitioning from the ability to read a text and understand a good deal of Hebrew words to the ability speak in a “real time” manner. That difficulty for me by the simple fact that the availability of Hebrew speakers in my neck of the woods is limited.
