LEARN CHINESE THE EASIEST WAY
Not very long ago, when the entire world was looking to revamp old ideas, as well as learn, grow, develop and surge forward, China was one country which bore a ‘Don’t come hither’ attitude and kept to itself and did not believe in crossing the shores for self benefits. Call it self-consciousness or self-importance, but the majority of Chinese were apprehensive about venturing into the outside world.
With the internet revolution, and the unwieldy growth in the population, China could no longer stay indoors but had to venture out for better prospects and sustenance. You cannot stay locked in and still expect to grow and flourish. What better country than the US to offer a flurry of opportunities and openings for the talented? The rest is history. Having remained cut off from rest of the world, Chinese have been slow to pick up new languages, and that is evidenced from the pro-active measures they are employing in their country to learn the language.
Since the Chinese are widespread, and their intelligence, can by no means be underestimated, entrepreneurs world over are realizing the importance of learning Chinese to conduct business with them. The maxim followed here is :”If you are slow to learn my language, I shall learn yours”. No complaints, as long as the intentions are noble and the ends are achieved without recourse to hostility.
If you ant to conduct business with the Chinese, Mandarin would be the first one as that is widely prevalent in China. Nothing like going to the place of origin of the language, in order to learn it, but that is not a feasible proposition for all. Handy tools in the form of various electronic gadgets, the internet and a sea of books, are all there for you to refer to. Even if your profession warrants you to learn the language, no language can be mastered unless you have a flair for learning new languages. All the books in the world on swimming cannot teach you swimming until you decide to step into a pool. A job well started is a job half done.
Chinese is not known to be a very easy language to master. But, if you resolve, any tool that you employ must prove useful. Then, Try to watch movies with subtitles and observe the accent and dialogues carefully. Once you have got a hang of the language, make friends directly, or go online for chat sessions, which should be really helpful. I have succeeded in picking up a few French and Japanese words watching movies alone with subtitles! But then, if your job expects you to learn a language, you have to go the whole hog and be sincere in you approach.
Do not experiment with too many ideas and end up getting confused. Try out one or two and cling to them till you have gained confidence. Results are sure to follow. Patience and perseverance are never known to let anyone down.
