The first thing to do when searching for learn Hebrew software is to determine whether your end goal is Biblical Hebrew Software or Modern Hebrew Software.
Biblical Hebrew study provides instruction for the Hebrew Scriptures (i.e. the Old Testament in Christian circles) and the Tanakh in Jewish circles. While not an exact crossover, Biblical Hebrew study can also provide plenty of proficiency in Siddur Hebrew (Jewish Prayer Book). The reason for this lies in the fact that so much of the Siddur is derived from Biblical passages and even those that do not are nevertheless written in prosaic style using familiar vocabulary derived from Biblical sources.
Modern Hebrew of course is for conversational and reading purposes in Israel or for Israeli-Jewish communities around the world. Modern Hebrew grammar is a subset of Biblical Hebrew, and I remember correctly has some limited influence from other eras of Hebrew including Mishnaic sources.
