Have a passion for learning French, but don’t know where to start? Learning French doesn’t have to take a long time. I’ve found four tips that should beneficial to the person looking to master French.
Tip #1 – Books are usually a good starting ground. Buy or borrow up-to-date materials on learning French. You can also browse the Web for free resources. If you do a Google book probe, you can even read books at no cost. There are countless titles currently accessible on the Internet, and additional ones get added every day. In fact you can even check out our post on Free French Resources
Tip #2 – A useful bit of advice is to create personal French vocabulary cards. This is a successful system that is almost free, as all you require are flashcards, a pen, and some sayings you want to learn. You can buy your note cards at a neighborhood office store, and French phrases can be supplied via the Web. Your cards are portable and are useful in studying your French during meals or prior to sleep. Don’t forget, brief study sessions are usually the most successful, as the human brain can only absorb a certain amount of data in a single go. Consistent study, 5-10 minutes per day will greatly up your knowledge of the French language within a fairly quick amount of time. If you’re preseed for time, you can also find ready made French Vocabulary Cards.
Tip #3 – Take a tour de France – and I’m not talking about a bike race. It may seem extreme or pricey, but it will do the trick. Few superior ways exist when it comes to completely surrounding yourself in a nation’s customs. For a less radical way to become familiar with French, go to a French eating establishment and make it a point to get to know French conversation. You will assess and better your French speaking by participating in chats.
Tip #4 – A popular technique in acquiring a foreign language is spending money on a language kit. Courses come in a variety of layouts that meet every financial bracket. You can download one from the Internet like the FSI French Basic Course or buy a physical copy to learn from. No matter how much you’re willing to spend, you’re sure to discover a course that will fit you. Some kits are quite extensive in that they’ll teach you French grammar or even give you exams! I recommend a listening course that is portable and can be done in brief bursts. If you follow these tips you’ll be speaking French a lot before you know it.
If you’re considering purchasing a language program for your study, you might want to consider the Pimsleur French Language Course.
