The current Pimsleur downloads available legally are in Windows Media Application (WMA) format. Converting the format to MP3 format can be a little cumbersome depending on the tools used but is doable.

Another option to consider is the Pimsleur Audio Chip which offers encrypted Pimsleur MP3 files. The files cannot be copied to a PC or MAC, though they can certainly be played on either, but the format does allow a transfer to an IPOD.

This is something to keep in mind, especially on the portability side. One audio chip is a lot lighter than 16 cds and the album if you’re on the move!
